Erik Mellander
Erik Mellander holds a PhD in Economics from Uppsala University. Since 2001 he is Deputy Director-General at the Institute for Labour Market Policy Evaluation (IFAU) in Uppsala, sharing his time between management and research.

Mellander's primary research interests are the economics of education and human capital, labor demand and production economics. Much of his research concerns applied work involving large databases. He is currently involved in a project where an intergenerational database is created, covering four generations since the late 19th century.

Erik Mellander has served as expert in Swedish Official Government Committees on issues relating to on-the-job training and lifelong learning. He is currently a member of Statistics Sweden's Council for Labour Market Statistics and member of the Swedish Research Council's Committee for Educational Science.
